Open call:

Space Away #1 at Danseatelier

Autumn 2024

Are you a freelance dancer and/or choreographer, and do you need a studio on a weekly basis to work, practice, research, rehearse and simply just spend time?

As a new initiative, Danseatelier is now looking for artists working in the field of dance and choreography who temporarily need a place to work. We want to invite local dance artists to share our dance studio with us for half a year at a time. This open call for the autumn of 2024 is the first out of four spread over the next two years.

We wish to share resources as a way to support freelance artists wherever they may be in their careers. We enthusiastically encourage dancers and choreographers from a broad range of representation in terms of background and experiences to apply.

We offer:

  • Possibility for studio booking on weekdays 17:00-21:00, and Saturdays and Sundays all day from 1st of Sept - 31st of December 2024*
  • Covered studio rent
  • Feedback and dialog with two of Danseatelier’s members**
  • To host a finale public sharing at Danseatelier
  • Minimal room for storage during the half year

* In dialogue with the members of Danseatelier as these times are in a shared booking system.

**The internal organizers are Snorre Elvin and Marlene Bonnesen

We expect:

  • A final public sharing in Danseatelier’s studio (a talk, workshop, or other suitable formats)

Further info

  • Our studio is located on the 2nd floor, which can only be accessed by stairs

  • Unfortunately, we don’t offer a fee or salary for the invited artists
