HERE ARE THE TOOLS, NOW SHAKE

“she always takes care of her contents and the space she is taking up" - At a moment when our lives are required to fit to a pre-determined outcome, be in order and in shape - how do we make and take care of containers for the unplanned?

‘Tramar’ is a Spanish verb meaning to collectively plot and conspire. To ‘tramar’ begins from a position of organising together in the trust that something will happen – learning from each other in doing so - rather than out of fear that it won’t. This workshop is organised in the spirit to tramar-ing. The session takes the tools of fermentation as propositions for how to share strategies and knowledges in making space for and learning through the unplanned, the mistakes, the unknown. As well as actually making a ferment you can drink.

Eva Rowson (GB) is a co-worker in la musea, a Catalan-Spanish-English project to reimagine the museum from a feminist perspective. Her own work is focused in how we build organisations and the work that ‘makes things happen’. She co-founded living room project space 38b and is currently Curator in Residence at Lighthouse (Brighton, UK).

La musea began in 2017 in Barcelona as a collaboration between Adrian Schindler, Ariadna Guiteras, Ariadna Rodriguez, Caterina Almirall, Eulàlia Rovira, Eva Rowson, Jordi Ferreiro, Lara Garcia Diaz, nyamnyam, Priscila Clementti and Sonia Fernández Pan.

Quilt = A quilt is a multi-layered textile, traditionally composed of three layers of fiber. 

Sew = join, fasten, or repair (something) by making stitches with a needle and thread. 

Conflict = be incompatible or at variance. 

Sow = Plant by scattering it on or in earth. Introduce (something undesirable) 

Sow : A female pig.

Vishnu Vardhani Rajan is a bodyphilosopher. Her work revolves around the manifold aspects of the body. She makes live arts and performances to demonstrate the political, economical, sexual, social, geographical, and racial body . Twerking and Naps are Vishnu’s tools of demonstration. Vishnu was born in Hyderabad, lives in Helsinki.

AMALIA KASAKOVE / ANNA LEA OURØ

Sure

Sure addresses how dance can hold a space for loss and how these emotions become part of the fibers of our very matter. The performance is set up in a form of a melancholic rave, where the repetition of dances step by step empty themselves and the room, letting the nothingness make itself known. 

Amalia Kasakove (FI) and Anna Lea Ourø (DK) are a Copenhagen based artist duo that resides in the field of dance and choreography. After graduating from The Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2017 they moved to Paris and back again. Alongside performing at various venues in Denmark and France, their film work has been awarded at Cannes Film Festival 2018 and they are involved in projects that reach out to an iron mine in Sweden, to a small island in Lofoten and back to Copenhagen again.

ASAF AHARONSON

Sub Ms.Eve

The work examines the notion of leakage, looking at different types of orifices and the mechanisms of opening and closing. Verbal leakage, such as gossip, chit chat and ranting, will be part of the duet inspired by the figure of the submissive. Sub Ms.Eve is part of a longer research called "Delights".

Asaf Aharonson (IL) is a recent graduate of the BA Dance & Choreography programme of HZT, Berlin. Aharonson has among others collaborated and performed with Peter Pleyer, Mia Habib, Hana Erdman, Iris Erez, Tami Lebovits and Arkadie Zidas. Through his art practice he aims to prioritize spending time with others as the primary site for the generation of material for live performance.

Later ventures into a series of events that invite us to wander through temporary territories, to explore the inability to spot what we are looking at, to infiltrate into multiple imaginaries, to look at what is gone and what hasn't fully disappeared yet, to become carriers of what is about to happen before we even think about it.

Julia Rodríguez (MX) is a Mexican-born artist living and working in Berlin. Her artistic practice is situated within the performing arts field and unfolds in various environments. She currently develops her own work where she explores the gap between thought and experience, the potential of imagination and the politics of expectation. She develops projects with other artists both as a collaborator and as a performer.

ELLEN SÖDERHULT, DANIEL IINATTI, IKI GONZALES MAGNUSSON, EMELIE “EMPO” ENLUND & LISEN ELLARD 

DUNKA DUNKA

We will host a delving into a format which partly camouflages itself into a DJ-set, a sturdy cluster of voices and a slowly melting dance concert. DUNKA DUNKA plunges into how different expressions can support each other and induce frictions between sounds and dances in a forest of clashing textures, rushes of emotions and entangled tonalities.

Ellen Söderhult (SE) is trained as a dancer and circus artist and has an appetite for dancing and singing as collective art forms. She is active as a dancer and choreographer and has performed works by Sindri Rundudde, Iki Gonzales Magnusson, Simone Forti, Sandra Medina and Anna Efraimsson. Her latest pieces include the sporty punk ballet ”How to do things with Romance: a prologue” and ”Shane et al.” in which she worked with choir singing, scents and camouflage. https://ellensoderhult.wordpress.com/

Daniel Iinatti (SE) is a Stockholm based DJ, curator and artist. Together with Anna Sagström he is the founder of Country Music, amongst other a digital platform for publication of music in the shape of an exploratory project for what periphery, geography, class and capital means today, through a lens of music, text, speed and materiality. https://soundcloud.com/iinatti

Iki Gonzalez Magnusson (SE) started her career as a breakdancer and is the founder of the non-profit organization Utopia which in multiple ways fights for a society and cultural life without excluding ability norms and works with directing attention to and change what is considered culture, who is allowed to create and practice culture and what it can be like. Iki has a background in music and is active as a choreographer, dancer, DJ and club organizer.

Emelie ”Empo” Enlund (SE) is a performing artist, dancer and choreographer educated at Stockholm University of the Arts and Stockholm University. With a dance technical background in the genres of Streetdance she combines methods from contemporary improvisation and dance with performance and choreography. During the recent years she has foremost been part of dance and performance group JUCK and the project We Love Holocene.  https://www.empoenlund.com/about

Lisen Ellard (SE), performer and dancer. She is busy with durational states of slowness and presence together with the audience and other notions of togetherness. She has also been working with different femininities as an empowering strategy. In 2013 Lisen graduated from the BA program in dance performance at DOCH.

FUNGAL NETWORKS

In their artistic work the DU—o use percussion in combination with field recordings from their travels around the world. On their quest after sounds they search for rhythm and movement that can coexist together with their instruments. 

Jaleh Negari is a composer and musician and works with sound art. Felia Gram-Hanssen is a sound and visual artist that works with performances and installations. Together they have made DU—o, which investigates field recordings and their interaction with percussive composition. They constitute the two drummers in the performance group MESHES together with choreographers and dancers Stine Frandsen and Lea Vendelbo Pedersen, where they investigate the interplay between movements and the rock associated drum kit.

An interactive sound piece that can be dialled from a phone, exploring the performative potential of the labyrinthian structure of internet protocol telephony, which allows the caller to choose from multiple options.

From the 30th of August and throughout September the number can be dialled. 

Wilfred Wagner is a visual artist and printmaker based in Copenhagen, whos work often takes outset in media-specific anachronisms in design and popular culture. MFA from Malmö Art Academy, Wilfred is the co-founder of the local publication studio and print house KLD Repro.

Sharing a meal with someone, eating together has a special term – Commensality. A place where people sit and eat together can enliven relationships, share thoughts, experiences and emotions. Eating together reaffirms the sense of belonging, being part of a community. I have been cooking for DANSEAtelier since 2016, which I normally do accompanied by Oum Kulthoum’s songs.
