is an artist-driven space for dance and choreography in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, as well as a collective consisting of 9 dancers and choreographers, friends and colleagues. Founded in 2015, Danseatelier grew out of a need for continuity, knowledge sharing, and social and artistic support. By insisting on togetherness and taking time, we seek to move away from individualization and loneliness, whether through hosting, sharing, or making work.
Danseatelier is an ongoing organizational and artistic research into collectivity, rhizomatic structuring, and multiple hierarchies, continuously morphing with time and needs. Through a feminist lens, our activities unfold through choreographic works, festivals, performance evenings, publications, workshops, residency programmes, and organizational research.
